Attack The Block

Postby namesinspace » Thu Jul 14, 2011 2:10pm

Tomorrow evening, there's an open air screening near the estate where the film was shot. More details here.

One of the best interviews to come out of the current US press tour must be Anne Thompson's here.

Films screening from 13:00

The Good, The Mad and The Funky – Young People’s Cinema Takeover Day
To celebrate the start of the school summer holidays, on Saturday 23 July Cinema 1 will be taken over by young people! We’ll be screening 1980s classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Joe Cornish’s Attack The Block, and brand new comic book adaptation Green Lantern.

All 3 films have been programmed by Cornerhouse’s young Creative Stars team.

If you’re 14-17 years old you can join Cornerhouse’s LiveWire Young People’s Membership Scheme for free to see all 3 films for under £10, and £3 cinema tickets any time at Cornerhouse.

A limited number of tickets are available for adults so pre-booking is advisable to avoid disappointment.

They might as well say 15 - 17 yr olds as two of those are 15 certs but it's a lovely idea.

I guess I should have mentioned the double bill with Mars Attacks! that's happening at the RIverside Studios on Thursday too

The Prince Charles Cinema in London now have Attack the Block in rep. It's only afternoons at the moment but hopefully they'll add some evenings.

Sorry this thread is a little neglected. There has been so much in the media.

Joe did a couple of nice interviews in Locarno and also attended Fantasy Fest in Berlin the other week.

Sky will air the film from the morning of the day the DVD/Blu-ray is released.
