mynameiscal The first 2 minutes and 15 seconds of BBC's "Persuasionists" makes me want to tear out my eyes and dropkick them at the t.v. Not good comedy

It really was shit. The writing was truly awful - Adam was ok I suppose but it was terrible

Can't really disagree with what's been said... I'm a big fan of Iain Lee and obviously Adam, but this was terrible

I managed to find 5 positive Tweets:

http://twitter.com/bukakor/statuses/7724590817
@bukakor the new bbc2 comedy with adam buxton was pretty funny

http://twitter.com/ellardent/statuses/7724499351
@ellardent Liking Buxton and Farnaby. And there are some fun lines. Give those those two the show: volatile, clashing ad execs must work together.

@cheznoir YAYY DRUNK ADAM BUXTON. Hee hee he quoted himself :D

http://twitter.com/Wllmtnnnt/statuses/7724210442
@Wllmtnnnt I like it when things get bounced off of buxton's head.

@simondowling I love Buxton's voices #thepersuasionists

Watched last night, and it was better than I expected. Still bad though. Adam was good, it's just the show... wasn't. I don't think any of the actors really had a chance to do particularly well with that script.

As others have said, it's such a shame that Adam has to be involved in shows like this, when he is capable of so much more. The videos on his Youtube account, the stuff he's done with Joe, all his other work is funnier than the first ep. of The Persuasionists, he can obviously do so so so much better. It's upsetting. Adam deserves better than this.

Tom Sutcliffe has taken the time to make a considered review which isn't all bad, in The Independent and Keith Watson The Metro has a rather amusing piece. Tom might do something in his weekend show, I guess.

There were a few more positive tweets but they're hard to find among all the others. For some odd reason, the guy pretending to be Adam started tweeting again a few days ago, even having the cheek to reply to Richard Herring (calling him Dickie, even!) so Andrew Collins has diligently replied to the handful of people who replied to him to tell them of his fakery. I think the tiny number of followers shows that most people are not taken in but I'm keeping an eye on him. A couple of his tweets are a tad out of order but nobody is reading them, really.

I stuck through the whole thing, it's as bad as they say. I stayed the distance for Buckles, I can only hope that it doesn't hamper his future career. As said previously, his youtube stuff is far far superior so hopefully all is not lost.

Still, it's only the first episode, maybe it'll get better??????????????
