Joe Cornish will direct 'Attack The Block'

"Joe Cornish will make his directorial debut on sci-fi action comedy Attack The Block, reports Screen Daily.

One half of the Adam And Joe comedy pairing, Cornish has written the script for the Film4 project. The story centres around hoodies living on a Peckham estate who join together to fend off an alien invasion.

Cornish recently collaborated with Hot Fuzz helmer Edgar Wright on the screenplay for Steven Spielberg's The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn. The pair also worked together on an Ant-Man adaptation for Marvel.

Cornish currently presents a Saturday morning radio show for BBC 6 Music with comedy partner Adam Buxton."

I had no idea that Joe and Edgar had done work on the Tin Tin script

Good for Joe. I did know about the Tintin thing, but heard about it way back when and forgot until a few weeks ago when I read filming was well underway.

On a purely selfish level I wonder where this leaves the 6Music show as directing won't leave much time for radio fun surely?

Attack The Block got a mention in Empire or Total Film (I forget) an issue or so ago; think it was only a breif description in an article about many comic book movies coming out. Will have a look and scan it if u like.
