Brilliant, Jon. Thanks for your help.

Of course, I'm none the wiser but I'll test through a different browser where I'm not signed in and see if I can just upload those ones again. It might have something to do with my broadband dropping out mid-upload. I usually have to start again but perhaps if they're on the cusp they work in the folder download but not individual ones. I know. I'm clutching at theoretical straws here.

The shows were...
XFM 2003.08.30
XFM 2003.09.20
XFM 2003.10.04
XFM 2004.10.23
XFM 2005.01.29
XFM 2005.02.05
XFM 2005.02.19
XFM 2005.03.05
BBC 2008.02.09
BBC 2008.09.20
BBC 2008.10.04
Also, I struggled a bit downloading some of the 'BBC 6Music Podcasts - 2008'.
The missing ones I did spot were...
8, 9, 10, 13, 18, 23, 25, 26, 29, 30
I hope that's useful.

Hi Jon......we've replaced all those XFM links with 128 bps files now. The three BBC 2008 files are Blurry101's and I can't think of any reason why they would be at a different rate but I'm downloading one now. It takes a long while as I don't have a Rapidshare account. Once I've got it, I'll see if there's anything strange about it.

I'll have another go at putting those wonky podcasts up later on today, with any luck.

Thanks again for your help.

If anyone else is having problems, let us know. I did change a lot of the Rapidshare file links today as they weren't loading properly.

Okay Jon. I've replaced the ten podcasts you mentioned and I'll get around to checking beyond #30 to see if they're OK. Let me know if you've got any further yourself.

I've grabbed two of Blurry's BBC Full Show files now. One of them is 134bps which I'll convert to 128 but the other one is OK already. Put it through my machine but I'm not sure why it was misbehaving.

Welcome along, QuiteNiceJon!

I've checked my 3 offending files - they seem to load ok into iTunes here, although 09-02-08 and 04-10-08 have odd bitrates as Names in Space mentioned.

@ Names In Space - If you haven't already done them, I'll sort out re-upping them at 128k.

Hi Blurry. I've just re-upped them. I didn't see your post earlier for some reason. No worries though x

Jon, I can't find any other podcast links that aren't working. You do have to register with 4Shared now in order to access them but them seem to be OK.

I have the missing 2008.02.23 full show, albeit only at 64k. Where's the best place for me to upload it these days?

What are the next priorities? Any other gaps? I have a pretty comprehensive collection, but only what was available to download during 2010-2011.

Really? You're a star! We can try bumping it back up to 128 and see what happens. Are you happy to use Rapidshare? Blurry101 will grab it from there and take out the news before putting it in his collection & then I'll bring the link over here.

Next priority is for me to get my finger out and upload all the edited shows. That's what we're missing although I have them all, just not online. All of our gaps are in the XFM shows sadly.

Thanks again!

I'll PM you and blurry with a temporary link to it in a minute. I see that Rapidshare and Mediafire both need email registration these days, which is a tad worrying.

It's not going to gain anything from being upsampled to 128k, but I don't suppose it would suffer either, apart from just being a bigger file size.

Hello namesinspaces and blurry101.

Just to say a big thanks for your efforts. Much appreciated. I've not looked in on the site for a while – partly because I've been spending many happy hours listening to the wonderful shows and trying not to spend too much time Gnoodling on my eMac, which usually ends in a financial transaction of some sort – and at the moment I'm trying to save up for a more modern machine, so I can buy CDs and guitars a whole lot quicker.

I wanted to ask, have A or J been involved in this site at all? - and how has all the material been sourced? Was the show downloadable in its entirety on the BBC/XFM sites? I only ever listen-agained or podcasted a few if I couldn't listen live during the short time I knew about the BBC6 show.
I can't imagine cassette tapes have been involved with these shows, although I did go to the trouble of recording all but one episode of Blue Jam onto TDK C120s sixteen years (?!) ago. Fat lot of good those late nights did me as it's all up online somewhere these days.

Fings ain't wot they used ta be.

The 6 Music show would have been available on the iPlayer, and I believe there are ways and means of downloading things from there.
