Hoping someone who remembers music in the same lame way as me, only better can help....

I am looking for a song most possibly by a Scottish band which was played on one of their shows (nope no idea about date) which was a bout a bloke who sees a girl he was briefly involved with, and is now standing together with someone else. How friends ask whether he is ok, and that he looks like he's seen a ghost.

Can't remember song. Have looked. Partner says Jesus and Mary Chain, and may be at a point where I am willing to listen to a large back catalogue of 80's Scottish bands which isn't too much of a hardship I guess, but if someone out there has an inkling, then at least I would have somewhere to start....

Apologies for this not being in any way an amusing or funny question, and for nowhere mentioning Boggins - at least apart from here....
