Joe Cornish: BH Cultural Figure of the Year
Last Sunday, Joe was awarded the coveted Broadcasting House spurtle for his achievements this year. You can listen again for a few more hours here (towards the end) or download the podcast for the next month via this page.
Joe invited listeners to submit Human Christmas Tree photos, almost like a Black Squadron command. Two of them made it to the BH home page.
Listener Ciaran Logue sent this in.
Listener Anthony Nelson sent in a picture of his son dressed up for his school play.
Attack the Block has received nominations from The London Critics’ Circle in the categories of Breakthrough British Film Maker and Young British Performer of the Year. The presentations will take place in London on 19th January 2012.
John Boyega (Moses from Attack the Block) has also been nominated in the Black Reel Awards and Attack the Block was named Best First Feature by The Toronto Film Critics Association.
The New York Film Critics Online also declared Joe Cornish Best Debut Director.
